I’m thrilled to share the cover art and release date of Lychgate’s upcoming new album ‘Precipice’ (out December 19th on Debemur Morti Productions). I feel it’s arguably the most intense, complex and, at times, ‘out there’ musical work I’ve contributed my bass playing to, and I really think fans of challenging and truly progressive extreme metal will go crazy for this one.

To try to describe the band’s sound to those unfamiliar - perhaps there are minor elements of well known bands like Emperor, early Opeth, and Morbid Angel, and some common ground with more avant-garde bands like Dodecahedron, Gorguts, Imperial Triumphant etc. At the same time, there are moments reminiscent of Yes, Magma and other 70s prog bands. If you’re looking for a fresh take on any or all of the above, you really shouldn’t miss this album!

Hi, and thanks for visiting my long overdue new site!

 

Eventually, I intend for this space to serve as a comprehensive official archive of my musical 'history'. At some point in the future, I may even offer video lessons and courses. 

​

​For now, however, I'm keeping things simple and limiting content to current news.

 

So, as of September 2025, my main musical activities are as follows:

​

1) Working as a producer / mixing engineer / session musician from my studio, Twelve Tone Studio (professional enquiries only please).

​

2) Revisiting the 6-string prog bassist experience, this time with avant-garde progressive black metal band Lychgate​. (We have a new album coming out at the end of 2025 and I can honestly say it's one of the most challenging and unique records I've been a part of. I'm excited for its release!)

​

3) Composing material for a new and substantially less extreme project, in which I get to re-explore my first love - guitar! I seemingly haven't had the time for such a venture since working on the PSION EP, so it's nice to be exercising my creative muscle again. 

​
